Aircraft Parts Summary

Here is a summary of the 3 main control surfaces and how they effect the aircraft.

Below you can see how these 3 surfaces relate to the 3 main axis of motion.

Pitch is controlled by Elevator

Roll is controlled by Ailerons

Yaw is controlled by Rudder

In class we will talk about how you, as co-pilot, will manipulate the Elevator, Ailerons, and Rudder.
