Overview
Fun Day is essentially a field trip. For kids or adults. A half-day (or longer) visit to the airport to learn a little, visit with
airplanes, tour the ramp, maybe have lunch, play in the simulators, etc.
The Fun Day program can be customized to your group's specific needs. We've had groups of 6-year-old kids, seniors from a home,
visiting tourists ... you name it!
Example: Junior Co-Pilots
Example: Senior Visitors
A group of seniors from a local assisted living centre. 4 hours at the airport (10:30 am to 2:30 pm).
- Classroom Presentation about Aviation
- 'Game Show' contest - with prizes
- Lunch at the Airport Cafe
- Stories from a Senior Citizen Fighter Pilot (it was fascinating!)
- Pictures in the Cockpit
Sorry, no pics available)
Other Possibilities?
Absolutely! There are so many activities available for us to choose from. We can customize a visit just
for your group. Here are some of the things we could do:
- Various classroom presentations
- Lunch or Snacks at the cafe
- Stories / Talks from retired Pilots (amazing war stories)
- Pictures in the Cockpit / Pictures by the Planes
- Tour of an Aircraft Maintenance Facility
- Time in Certified Simulators
- Control Tower Tour
- Craft Projects - Paper Helicopters to Helium Balloons to Complex Paper Airplanes
- 'Game Show' Contests and Games (prizes)
- Aviation Comedy - True Stories from behind the Cockpit Door(a hoot)
- Airplane Rides
Lots of possibilities. Whatever is right for your group.
What would it cost?
Fun Days are run by volunteers. So the only cost to your group is usually the food. And that can be pretty
reasonable. For example: A full lunche (burger, fries, salad/soup, drink, dessert) is usually under $15.
If you want your fun day to include an airplane ride, it may cost you something for that. For smaller groups and
short rides it may even be free. For a larger group, or longer rides (and maybe even instruction), it can cost anywhere
between $20 and $50 per person.
Public Fun Day
Once a year we hold a Public Fun Day. It's a kind of open-house and will include a generic mix of family activies.
How do I sign-up?
If you would like to arrange a Private Fun Day (what most of this page has described), the procedure is outlined here:
